SHEREETA, director & owner

My name is Shereeta Lynn and I am the proud Owner and Director of Old City Child Care. I presently hold a dual Bachelor’s degree and am currently completing my Master’s in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I have a strong background in Teaching, Coordinating, Social Work, Mental Health, and Supervision. Over the years, I have gained a wealth of knowledge, as well as a variety of teaching, research, and therapeutic experiences, which included working with diverse groups. I’ve taught preschool, elementary, middle, high school and adults, providing individual, small groups and whole class instruction to students with learning disabilities, emotional disturbances, multiple disabilities and regular education classes. I value individuality, and strive to meet the needs of students and others. I like to use a variety of hands on activities and different teaching styles to accommodate diverse learning styles. I recognize the importance of using empathy skills to establish the most efficient and productive environment as possible for both my students and staff.

Old City Child Care teachers are educated and trained in Early Childhood Development, CPR and First Aid certified. Collectively they carry several years experience working with children with a wide age range. It is paramount that each teacher have excellent communication skills, are enthusiastic, energetic, nurturing, patient, comforting, creative, responsive, compassionate, flexible, encouraging, and culturally sensitive and aware. They also possess great leadership skills and the ability to work well with others.
